1. Purpose
The purpose of this induction policy is to ensure that all new employees of the Exeter Coast and Country Methodist Circuit are welcomed, supported, and equipped to carry out their roles effectively, safely, and in line with the ethos and values of the Methodist Church. The induction process is designed to:
• Introduce employees to the Circuit, its mission, and its values.
• Provide clarity on roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
• Ensure compliance with legal, safeguarding, and organisational requirements.
• Foster engagement, confidence, and integration within the team.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all employees of the Exeter Coast and Country Methodist Circuit, whether full-time, part-time, or temporary. Volunteers may receive a simplified induction process.
3. Policy Statement
The Circuit is committed to providing a comprehensive induction for all new employees, recognising that a structured induction:
- Enhances staff retention and morale.
- Promotes safe working practices, including safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.
- Encourages understanding of Methodist values, worship practices, and community engagement.
